 Mabel's Hello Woof woof! Hi! This is Mabel and I am here to tell you about my adventures. I live at Stone Gait most of the year, and in Maine in the summer where most of my adventures take place. Emily says it is quiet there with not much to do but I beg to differ. Adventure is around me everywhere I look! All I have to do is follow my nose; sniff sniff, snuffle snuffle. Do I smell food? I wonder what's for lunch at the Dark Harbor Shop! Let's go see! Oh, I forgot, I was going to tell you about my books. Lunch can wait, I'll at least have time for tea and crumpets with my neighbor later. This is what happened the day I took the Island Ferry without permission, and the reason Emily wrote my first book, "Mabel Takes the Ferry". You see, I learned to sail when I was just a puppy. One day, my family packed a picnic lunch to go sailing to Flat Island. They were taking the kids today, and they left without me! That is when I decided to chase after the car and meet them at the boat. Wait a minute, I have an itch. Scratch scratch scratch. Ahh, that's better. I must have caught fleas from those pesky cats! Now back to the story. When I got to the dock, the boat was already off the mooring and they were out sailing. I had been too slow. But wait! I quickly thought up a plan to catch them! I don't want to spoil the ending so I will stop here.  Be

as well. Maxine is a landlubber and knows nothing about sailing. I must
